Deeper, Deeper: The Audition Review

For the first 45 minutes it's a sweet, but weird romance. For the last 30 minutes you find out just how weird.

A widower gets lonely and wants to marry again. But he doesn't want to go through all of the rigamarole of dating. His co-worker suggests an audition for a movie they are working on and he can choose his wife-to-be from those candidates.

He eventually tells the girl he picks out about the audition scam. She doesn't seem to be too concerned. But as he gets to know her better, things start to not add up. Disappearances of people she lists as supervisors, etc. His co-worker says get out NOW. He doesn't listen and well, he finds out what is so odd about his audition lover.

The last 15 minutes are open to intrepetation--a dream or not? Real or unreal? I could see where the movie is an allegory for man's guilt and how a man is punished--either by true, real, gruesome torture, or just what he holds inside of him.
